More about the book
Composed during Mozart's first visit to Milan in 1770, this early symphony showcases the Italian overture style with its three movements structured into two sections. The piece begins with an 'allegro' followed seamlessly by an 'andante.' After Mozart's death, the manuscript was mistakenly attributed to the opera Mitridate by publisher Johann André, despite the distinct overture of that opera. The symphony's performance date remains unknown, but its connection to Milan adds historical significance.
