More about the book
The study investigates the antimicrobial, antioxidant, and toxicity properties of essential oils from Hymenaea courbaril bark and Syzygium cumini leaves. Notably, H. courbaril's major component is -ocimene, while S. cumini contains isocaryophyllene. Both essential oils demonstrated strong antioxidant activity and toxicity against Artemia salina, alongside bactericidal effects against several pathogenic bacteria, including E. coli and S. aureus. The findings highlight the potential of these essential oils in combating harmful microorganisms.
