Set against the backdrop of 1969, the story follows Gavenia, a unique nineteen-year-old navigating her tumultuous first year of college in New York. After her brother returns from Vietnam struggling with PTSD, she heads back to her hometown of Boring, Oregon. As an outcast in her dysfunctional British family, Gavenia confronts a summer filled with ridicule and emotional challenges. Ultimately, she realizes that to help her brother heal, she must first confront her own struggles and find her place in the world.
