THE UKRAINE WAR ECONOMICS AND PROLIFERATION OF SALW IN AFRICA

Focusing on the implications of the Ukraine conflict, this study explores how economic factors contribute to the proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) in Africa. It analyzes data to reveal the dynamics behind the increased availability of SALW, highlighting arms transfers from Ukraine as a significant influence. The research examines the economic incentives facilitating these transfers and their role in exacerbating armed conflicts, crime, and instability, ultimately stressing the detrimental effects on communities and national security across the continent.
