A Heritage of Light

Set in the harsh winter of 1710-1711 Virginia, two brothers, Abraham and Benjamin Cooke, embark on a perilous journey to fulfill their dying uncle's wish. Tasked with finding his Native American mistress, Nuttah, and their son, Hassan, they rely on their Quaker faith and survival skills. Their adventure leads them into treacherous territory, where they face betrayal from a Native American hunting party that initially offers friendship but ultimately threatens their freedom. The story explores themes of loyalty, faith, and the struggle for survival.
