More about the book
The study explores the evaluative strategies homicide investigators employ to classify unsolved cases as serial or non-serial murders. Through semistructured interviews with ten police professionals, thirteen themes emerged, including modus operandi, motive, physical evidence, and the role of intuition and technology. The findings aim to enhance police procedures in murder investigations, improve resource allocation for serial murder cases, and stimulate further research into effective police work and prevention strategies.
