More about the book

Founded by Sultan Sahak in the late 14th century, the Yarsan religion, also known as Ahle Haqq or Kaka'i, is a syncretic faith primarily practiced by ethnic Goran Kurds in western Iran and eastern Iraq. With an estimated 2 to 3 million adherents, the Yarsanis face societal pressure, leading many to conceal their beliefs. Their unique religious literature is mainly in the Gorani language, although few modern followers can read it, as most speak Southern Kurdish or Sorani. The community includes diverse ethnic groups, with some Yarsanis in Iraq referred to as Kaka'i.
