Frances Burney, an influential English novelist and playwright, gained prominence with her first novel, Evelina, published in 1778. Serving as "Keeper of the Robes" to Queen Charlotte from 1786 to 1790, she later married French exile General Alexandre d'Arblay in 1793. Her extensive writing career included novels, unperformed plays, and a memoir of her father, alongside numerous letters and journals published posthumously. After years of travel and living in France, she eventually settled in Bath, England, where she passed away in 1840.
