Georg Moritz Ebers was a prominent German Egyptologist and novelist, renowned for discovering the Ebers Papyrus, one of the earliest medical texts. He studied jurisprudence and Oriental languages, eventually becoming a professor of Egyptian language and antiquities. His academic journey included significant research trips to Egypt, leading to key publications, including "Ägypten und die Bücher Moses." His scholarly work culminated in the editing of the Ebers Papyrus, which has greatly contributed to the understanding of ancient Egyptian medicine.
