A young boy named Sandy Preston is transported to 17th century Spain, where he meets the legendary knight Don Quixote after discovering a book in the library. Accompanying Quixote on various adventures, Sandy learns the importance of adhering to one's beliefs and values. Through these experiences, he adopts the principles of knight errantry, which Quixote acknowledges by dubbing him "Sir Sandy." Upon returning home, Sandy shares his newfound understanding of moral integrity with his mother, who encourages him to apply these ideals in his life.
