Struggling to provide for his family, Robert becomes the Parish Waywarden, inheriting the challenging task of maintaining the parish highways. His efforts take a dark turn when he discovers a young woman's body in a ditch, leading to a potential murder charge that threatens his quest to restore his family's reputation and regain their place in the church.
