John Kendrick Bangs was a multifaceted American author known for his humor and satire. Born in Yonkers, New York, he pursued higher education at Columbia College, where he became the editor of the literary magazine. After earning a degree in Political Science, he briefly attended Columbia Law School before shifting his focus to writing. Bangs served as Associate Editor of the magazine Life, where he published numerous articles and poems, marking the beginning of his literary career. His contributions during this time laid the foundation for his future works.
