When I Grow Up is dedicated to children of colour. It was created to inspire, boost self-esteem and encourage kids to dream big. Books can be tools for children to imagine and discover the unknown. For kids, being able to see themselves reflected in books is essential. When one can see his or herself represented in books as doctors, architects or professional athletes, it reinforces that anything is possible.
