Christian faith communities there had existed centuries before the First Council of Nicaea, before Rome adopted Christianity, before the Byzantine Empire and before King James commissioned a compilation of the Bible. African Christians' faith in Jesus Christ, perseverance, suffering, sacrifice, exegetical principles, theological dogma and canonical processes were instrumental to the foundation and institutions of Western Christianity.
