This is my story, tracing my life from the beginning (1941) to the present (2023), highlighting trails I have traveled as a "Sandlapper" from the sandhills of South Carolina. Three central themes guide the path to transformation: Mind: How challenges in the pursuit of four university degrees, with a serious learning disability, led to courageous risk-taking across six careers Body: How a farmboy's body developed through demanding work in the fields to sports, hiking, long-biking, yoga, strength training, and golf Spirituality: How a young Southerner, growing up in a devoted Methodist family, nurtured a vastly different spirituality centered on humanism.
