Farm Girl is the author's memoir of her childhood on a dairy farm in Central New York, where she was allergic to everything, including the animals, crops, and even milk. She was also allergic to her father, grandfather, and three siblings, who carried many allergens on their clothing, creating strained relationships. Often sick and isolated, she searched for emotional release, which she found in music and writing.
