Despite this clear guidance, parenting remains a complex challenge, especially when the word "step" precedes a parent's title. This was certainly true for me as a stepfather, a role I never anticipated taking on at forty-five. Falling in love with Diana, a single mother of ten-year-old Nathaly, changed everything.
