Shade, the Changing Girl Series

This series follows an alien teen who steals a magical artifact and flees to Earth. By taking over the body of an Earth girl, she seeks to experience emotions and adventure. However, she soon discovers that life as a human girl, compounded by the past of her new host, is fraught with its own unique challenges.
