With beauty, as with so much else, knowledge is power. Here's all of mine. Why has my favourite eyeliner stopped looking flattering? What can I do about the skin on my neck? Am I too old for contour? What is contour? Every week, tens of thousands of women turn to India Knight's beauty column in the Sunday Times Style Magazine, to be directed to beauty products that really work by someone they can trust - and who understands how much this stuff matters. It matters because looking, and therefore feeling, like yourself at every stage of life is fundamental. In this brilliant, essential, reassuring book, India has distilled her beauty wisdom into practical advice for every part of the face and beyond- from tips for thinning lips and thinning hair, to the best skincare for older faces, to the make-up products that really make a difference, to demystifying the scientific jargon beloved by the beauty industry. If you would rather not use 35 products on your face every morning or watch how-to videos on TikTok, or if you have ever looked in the mirror and found yourself thinking 'Who is that?', then India Knight's Beauty Edit is the book you've been waiting for. It is a glorious and indispensable celebration of how to be old(er) with minimum fuss and a generous helping of grace, confidence and style.

    • The Penguin Complete Novels of Nancy Mitford, with an introduction by India Knight, collects all eight of her witty and insightful novels in one volume for the first time in years. Spanning three decades, these works offer a vivid portrayal of the vibrant young socialites of the thirties through the sixties, exploring their lives both at home and abroad, and revealing the antics of the upper classes during peacetime and wartime. Celebrated for their originality and humor, Mitford's novels have garnered praise from notable figures, including Evelyn Waugh and the Daily Mail. Born in London in 1904, Mitford was the eldest of the second Baron Redesdale's six children. Her upbringing in a large country house with her siblings is reflected in her semi-autobiographical work, The Pursuit of Love (1945), which marked her breakthrough. Following this success, she wrote several more novels, including Love in a Cold Climate (1949) and Don't Tell Alfred (1960). Mitford also authored acclaimed biographies and translated classic works, contributing significantly to literature and cultural commentary. She was honored with a CBE in 1972, leaving a lasting legacy as a novelist and biographer.

    • Sex. There's a lot of it about. And Stella is definitely not getting her fair share. She's got a few handicaps: she's the wrong side of thirty, she's a single mum (to the adorable Honey), and her French hot-bloodedness is liable to turn grown men pale. Mind you, the men she meets are either perma-tanned, tight-trousered smoothies with strangely white teeth or - easy, tiger - balding, poorly socialized podgers. One lot have black satin sheets; the other lot have, well, wives. What's a girl to do? Dividing her time between London's most PC playgroup (most popular children's names: Ichabod and Perdita) and lessons on the art of pulling from housemate Frank, Stella is seriously starting to wonder if she'll ever have sex again.

Even Keats, Chaucer, and Shakespeare are up to no good. These are the stories that taught us about sex, volumes pilfered from our parents’ bookshelves, favorites passed girl to girl, hidden in desks, whispered and wondered about.
