A Disappearance in Fiji

Set in 1914 Fiji, the story follows police sergeant Akal Singh, who is sent to the islands as punishment after a professional mistake. Isolated and eager to return to Hong Kong, he is reluctantly assigned to investigate the disappearance of an indentured Indian woman from a sugarcane plantation. As he delves deeper, Akal uncovers unsettling truths about the plantation owners and the harsh realities faced by indentured workers.
