More about the book

This book is the author’s collection of the articles presented in various national and international seminars and workshops conducted in several colleges and universities. Some of these papers got also published in reputed journals and books. Though these articles were written at different times, they reflect the author’s search and philosophical journey. Articles shows how the author fascinated towards Karl Marx, Ambedkar, Periyar and structuralism and his attraction towards phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics and Wittgenstein, critical theory, post-Marxism and postmodernism. This book also covers folk philosophy, sociology of knowledge, popular consciousness, identity construction and postcolonialism. Author came across some new philosophy, and he all the time reflected how these ideas can be used to unravel the agonies of the oppressed. Hence the articles in this book are not introductory notes of some philosophers or annotations for a text book. Some thinkers and their philosophy come to our rescue when we search for answers to some pertinent sociocultural and philosophical questions. So their theories are briefly exposed in order that we understand their relevance to such problems.
