Papal secretary Father Colin Michener is concerned for the Pope. Night after restless night, something coaxes Pope Clement XV to the Vatican's private archive--Something concerning the revelations of Fatima. When the Pope sends Michener on a mysterious errand to the Romanian highlands, perilous events unfold and Michener finds himself embroiled in suspicion, deceit, suicide, and murder.
