Under Western Eyes

Set against the backdrop of revolutionary Russia, the story follows Razumou, an orphan who views the entire nation as his family. As his classmates rally for revolution, Razumou chooses neutrality, equating a side-taking with betrayal. His resolve is tested when Haldin, a classmate involved in a political assassination, seeks refuge in Razumou's home. Torn between loyalty and moral obligation, Razumou grapples with guilt and identity crisis, ultimately facing the dilemma of whether to assist Haldin or report him to the authorities.
